sad dogs made happier

I haven’t found a great tofu dog yet, so if I’m having sausage on a bun, I really am looking for a good topping to compensate for the overwhelming meh. Turns out, a smoked paprika cabbage topping makes a world of difference to a sad tofu dog.

In my veg box I had a small white cabbage and some leeks (onions would also work), which, when slowly fried up on medium (then medium/low) heat with some caraway seeds, garlic, smoked paprika, and finished with a big dollop of plant-based or dairy sour cream or yogurt stirred in, makes for a super yummy topping. I also imagine it would be good on a really nice hot dog or sausage or burger, not just a meh tofu dog. It tastes much better than it looks, by the way.
