sprouts

It is a testament to how great the veg are from my veg box people that I eat the Brussels Sprouts they send me every single year. I don’t really like these tiny green veg monsters, but every year I get them. Sometimes on the big stalk, sometimes loose. And every year I eat them and they are great. I think of them as the tiny farts of the veg world, however my veg people manage to give me magical ones that look so great and taste great. Today I decided to follow a friend’s advice to chop them into ribbons, sauté them in fat of your choice with some salt and pepper and when it looks mostly done add a splash of balsamic vinegar (although she added a different acid and maple syrup) and let it cook a bit longer so the acid loses its edge and then enjoy. Enjoy I did.
