Jamie Oliver has this recipe for pita bread that uses three ingredients that many british people have kicking around: self-rising flour, baking powder, yogurt. As you can see, it makes a pretty decent pita. It comes together fast and if you have to patience to cook a dozen pancakes, you can cook these!
If you can manage cooking using weights and have access to self-rising flour, here is the link to Jamie Oliver’s recipe:

Ingredients
- 350 g/2.5 c self-raising flour (or 2.5 c of flour plus 5 teaspoons of baking powder) , plus extra for dusting
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 350 g natural yoghurt
Method
- Add every to a mixing bowl and mix together with a spoon, then bring everything together in a ball.
- Dust your work surface with flour and knead for a minute or so to bring it all together.
- Put the dough into a floured-dusted bowl and cover with a plate, then leave aside for about 5 mins or so.
- Dust your work surface and rolling pin with flour, then divide the dough in half, then divide each half into 6 equal-sized pieces (roughly the size of a golf ball).
- With your hands, pat and flatten the dough, then use a rolling pin to roll each piece into 12cm rounds, roughly 2mm to 3mm thick.
- Place pan on a high heat, then once hot, cook each one for 1 to 2 minutes on each side or puffed up.
