very orange soup

Soup is a good way to use up random bits and bobs that you don’t know what to do with. This soup is a result of all my orange bits and bobs from my veg box: some carrots, half a sweet potato, one lonely potato (who isn’t orange, I know), and a small pile of red lentils (that look pretty orange). I diced up the veg, and boiled this all in a pot with a bit of onion, a stick cube, some Chinese 5 spice powder, a bit of garlic powder, and some more ginger. Once all the veggies were soft and the lentils cooked and mostly broken up, I added a bit of coconut cream (coconut milk, yogurt, sour cream or whatever dairy or plant based creamy stuff you have would work) and some sesame oil and hit it with my immersion blender. I topped with with a bit more sesame oil, chives, and chilli flakes.
